PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

I am a Public Health Scientist and behavioral health professional with more than two decades of experience working at the intersection of public health, addiction recovery, prevention, behavioral health, and performance restoration.

I earned a Master of Science in Public Health from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine and completed undergraduate studies in Psychology through Louisiana Tech University.

My professional credentials include:

• Licensed Addictions Counselor (LA #1591)

• Certified Multiple Addictions Therapist (CMAT)

• Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC)

• Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (IC&RC #208)

• HIV Counselor (CDC/LA OPH #2306)

In addition, I completed advanced Sex Addiction Therapy training through the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP) under the leadership of Dr. Patrick Carnes.

Throughout my career, I have developed and implemented monitoring programs for professional licensing boards, consulted with high-risk populations, and worked directly with individuals facing significant personal, professional, and behavioral health challenges.

One of my public health initiatives, Louisiana Prevention and Treatment of HIV/AIDS and Substance Abuse (LA PATHS), received national recognition from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration for successfully addressing the twin epidemics of HIV and substance use disorders among high-risk populations.
